Lavender Heart
Here is the photo that didn't work last week, my new cook book and a wonderful vintage ice scoop. I love this new series by Villeroy and Boch, but I would never have bought it myself. Thank you so much, dear J.
This is another (and the last) piece I knitted for my Secret Pal Ingrid It is a lavender heart for which the pattern is available on Knitting Daily It is a modular knitted heart and a bit fiddly to do, but well worth the effort. I'll certainly do more for Christmas. However, I shall reduce the number of stitches used in the original pattern, as it has turned out bigger than I expected.

Dieses Photo hat letzte Woche nicht funktioniert:
Mein neues Kochbuch und ein herrlich schwerer, nostalgischer Eisportionierer aus der neuen Villeroy und Boch Serie. Ich liebe diese etwas kitschige neue Serie, in der es auch Tassen, Teller und Müslischalen gibt mit Motiven von Ferienorten der 20-er, wie der französichen Riviera. Selbst hätte ich mir dieses herrliche Stück nie geleistet, vielen Dank, liebe J.
Hier ist noch ein Stück (das letzte), das ich für Ingrid gestrickt habe.
Es ist das Lavendelherz, für das die Anleitung bei Knitting Daily herunterladbar ist.
Das Herz ist ein bisschen "fieslig" zu stricken, aber für das Ergebnis lohnt sich die Mühe allemal. Ich stricke sicher noch welche für Weihnachten, dann allerdings mit einer geringeren Maschenzahl, da das Herz größer geworden ist, als ich annahm.

Spoilt rotten
It was my birthday last Thursday and as you can see, I was spoilt rotten.
First of all, my husband took the day off as well and after the kids had left for school, we went to my favourite tea room for breakfast. The literal food was followed by the intake of mental food: We visited the latest exhibition at the Martin Gropius Bau:Skythen This was a very interesting exhibition, especially since I did not know anything about this people before. They even had some ancient knitted pieces exhibited!!!
As to my presents. The first parcel that arrived (or rather was handed over to me during our visit in the summer) was this gorgeous felted knitting bag:
It is large enough for a ball of sock yarn and some needles. It is made from wollmeise Granatapfel and I just love the color.
Next arrived this beautiful scarf. I had seen it on Strickmamsell's blog and thought, I have to buy the pattern, this scarf is so beautiful. Can you imagine my surprise and delight when I unwrapped my present and out came the scarf? She knitted it in merino and I cannot believe how much work and thought she has put into it. Thank you Strickmamsell!
My SP11 sent me some very delicious Mexican Pecan cookies. How did she know I love Pecan nuts? The cookies were an immediate success with the entire family.
But that wasn't all, there were also 4 balls of Knit Picks laceweight merino in Shadow. These are my first Knit Picks products ever and I have an idea now why everybody loves their products. The yarn is so lovely.
My new Secret Pal's package arrived the day before my birthday, but as I wasn't home, I had to go and fetch it at the post office along with this parcel from Ingrid (my upstream pal from SP10):
A skein of 100 % cashmere (!!!) Knitwitches laceweight yarn in cherry. Do you understand now why I think I have been spoilt rotten? Such luxurious yarn! And as if that wasn't enough two sets of circular needles, one in rosewood and one in ebony! The ebony needles are already in use! These goodies were accompanied by a very cute little sheep keyring.
Although knitting is my main and favourite pastime, my family knows that I am a reader as well and surprised me with three new books:

Colm Toíbín, Mothers and Sons (I have read one of the stories - excellent)
Kirsten Boie, Alhambra (can't wait to start this one).
For my sweet tooth, I received this most delicious bar of chocolate. Don't try it - you won't want to eat any other chocolate ever again.
And from my wish list, the new Moleskin calender for 2008. 7 days on the left side and a page for notes on the right side. Perfect for my needs.
And someone special knew, that I love to cook and am in need of a book on French cuisine:
I suppose, you now see why I haven't been able to blog the last couple of days. I had to ravel in my lovely presents...
Letzte Woche hatte ich Geburtstag und wie ihr sehen könnt, wurde ich mächtig verwöhnt.
Zunächst ging es ins TTT zum Frühstück und anschließend zur Skythen Ausstellung im Martin Gropius Bau.
Die Ausstellung ist sehr interessant, inklusive ein paar früher Strick- und Webstücke.
Nun aber zu den Geschenken.
Das erste, das ich im Sommer mit der Auflage es nicht vor meinem geburtstag zu öffnen, erhielt, war diese hübsche Tasche, in der ein Knäuel Sockenwolle + Nadeln Platz hat. Gestrickt und gefilzt aus der herrlichen wollmeise Lammwolle Granatapfel.
Als nächstes trudelte die Woche vor meinem Geburtstag ein großer Umschlag ein, der diesen herrlichen Schal mir brachte.
Ich hatte ihn schon im geheimen auf Strickmamsell's blog bewundert. Könnt ihr euch meine Freude und Überraschung vorstellen, als ich ihn ausgepackt habe? So herrlich leicht, weich und warm. Bei dem herbstlichen Wetter hier, ist er sofort mein ständiger Begleiter geworden undhat schon viel Bewunderung eingeheimst.
Mein Secret Pal 11 hat mir köstliche mexikanische Pecan-Kekse geschickt, die die ganze Familie liebt.
Außerdem 4 Knäuel Knit Picks Merino Laceweight Shadow in der Farbe Campfire. Ich verstehe jetzt endlich, warum alle von Knitpicks so begeistert sind.
Dieses Päckchen mußte ich zusammen mit einem weiteren Päckchen von Ingrid bei der Post abholen, das dieses luxuriöse, phantastische Kaschmirgarn von Knitwitches enthielt (ich finde allein den Namen schon hinreißend):
Und als wäre das nicht schon genug gewesen, lagen noch 2 Rundstricknadeln mit dabei, eine in Ebenholz und eine in Rosenholz, dazu ein Schäfchen-Schlüsselring.
Bei so tollen Geschenke wird einem das älter werden ganz schön versüsst.
Da meine Familie und Freunde wissen, dass ich außer Stricken auch mal gerne Lese und Koche, deshalb bekam ich noch drei Romane
Der Geist der Bücher (schon gelesen)
Colm Toíbín, Mothers and Sons
Kirsten Boie, Alhambra
und von einer ganz besonderen Freundin ein herrliches französisches Kochbuch (A table) geschenkt.
Und von der Schokolade laßt ihr lieber die Finger, denn nach ihrem Genuß wollt ihr keine andere mehr!
Und von meiner Wunschliste gab es noch den Moleskin Kalender für 2008 mit der Woche auf einer Seite und einer Notizseite auf der rechten Seite. Perfekt für mich.
Nun versteht ihr sicher auch, warum ich so lange nicht gebloggt habe. Ich mußte erst meine Geschenke genießen.
